Tottenham’s move to secure Frank follows the sudden sacking of Postecoglou last Friday. The Australian coach, who only recently led the club to Europa League victory, their first major piece of silverware in 17 years, was dismissed due to Tottenham’s disastrous domestic campaign. Despite the European success, chairman Daniel Levy was reportedly unimpressed with the team’s domestic performance, which saw Spurs finish 17th in the Premier League. The club suffered 22 defeats, and the disappointing results ultimately outweighed the club's continental achievements in Levy’s eyes.

Frank has earned a reputation as one of the most tactically astute and respected managers in English football. Since taking charge at Brentford, the Dane has overseen their promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and has managed to keep them clear of relegation worries, finishing 10th in the English top flight in the 2024-25 campaign.
