Capcom reveals new gameplay for C. Viper, highlighting her moveset and costumes, while also confirming her launch date for Street Fighter 6. Following its launch over two years ago, Street Fighter 6 continues to be a major success for Capcom, who continues supporting the popular fighting game with updates and new content on a regular basis.
With Tokyo Game Show kicking off in full this week, Capcom confirmed its own special showcase event, highlighting a number of announcements and upcoming games for fans to check out. The unique action hacking game Pragmata led off the show, giving fans another look at the upcoming title. Resident Evil Requiem, Onimusha, and Monster Hunter were all well represented as well. One of Capcom’s oldest franchises also had a big part in the showcase as well, including a 50% discount on the game during TGS 2025.
Street Fighter 6 C. Viper Launch Date
- October 15
As expected, Street Fighter was a big part of Capcom’s showcase as well, with the majority of the announcements centered on Street Fighter 6‘s upcoming DLC character and returning fighter, C. Viper. Following the well regarded return of Sagat to Street Fighter 6, Capcom has since turned its attention to another legacy character, confirming that Viper is launching on October 15 and giving players multiple ways to unlock her. Year 3 Ultimate or Character Pass owners will unlock her immediately, while others can purchase her individually using the game’s premium currency known as Fighter Coins.
The 2-minute trailer showed C. Viper gameplay, highlighting a mix of familiar special attacks from her last playable appearance in Street Fighter 4. As an intelligence operative, Viper has access to a number of special gadgets that can cause burn or shock to her opponents, enhancing her Burning Kick and Seismic Hammer moves. Her heels also allow her to perform high jumps and, as a special treat, Capcom has also shown off Viper’s Street Fighter 4 costume as well. The wait for Street Fighter 6‘s next DLC characters, Alex and INgrid, may have a bit of a wait attached to them, with a general Winter and Spring timeframe attached.
However, C. Viper wasn’t the only big Street Fighter 6 announcement Capcom had in store. Following the recent Summer Outfits added to Street Fighter 6, Capcom is adding a 4th outfit for Zangief on October 15 called Mech Zangie-F, a nod to a character that has appeared in past games.
In addition, Capcom revealed two surprising collaborations, the first with the metal band Cavalera Conspiracy to mark the release of Zangief’s special outfit. The other is with the visual novel game, Banshee’s Last Cry, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. New content will be available on October 15, as all Street Fighter 6 players can play a special scenario in World Tour Mode and the Battle Hub will feature special UI elements based on the game. For those looking for a bit more, there will be special items to unlock, including ghostly blue skins similar to how the characters appear in Banshee’s Last Cry.
