Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 developer Treyarch Studios has showcased two of the game’s Japan-set Multiplayer maps: Toshin and Den. While there’s still a little under two months left to go until Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, fans will get to go hands-on with Toshin during the shooter’s upcoming open beta weekend, which is set to kick off next week. As for Den, players will need to wait until November 14 to check it out themselves.
Earlier this week, Activision finally pulled back the curtain on all of the Multiplayer maps and modes coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at launch. The studio also published the very first Multiplayer-focused gameplay trailer for the shooter, which showcased some of the game’s new weapons, perks, and evolved omnimovement system. In total, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch with 18 Multiplayer maps, two of which will be 20v20 Skirmish maps. There will also be three remastered maps from the iconic Black Ops 2: Express, Hijacked, and Raid.
Black Ops 7 Shows Off Toshin and Den Multiplayer Maps
Out of the 18 Multiplayer maps, 6 of them will be available during Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s open beta, which kicks off next week. One of these maps is Toshin, which Treyarch Studios says will “transport players into the heart of Tokyo.” The studio also noted that the map has very well-defined lanes, which makes the perfect layout for objective-based modes such as Capture the Flag, Domination, or Search and Destroy. Toshin also features numerous iconic set pieces for players to battle their way through, including a cat cafe, a karaoke bar, an old-town district, and a main urban center.
Treyarch has also given fans a more in-depth look at Den, another Multiplayer map set in Japan. Unfortunately, it won’t be available in the game’s open beta next week, but players will be able to check it out at launch on November 14. From the outside, the map is centered around a stunning Japanese castle, but the inside has been taken over by The Guild and features a much more modern, tech-heavy interior. Treyarch also notes that the map offers perfect opportunities to utilize Black Ops 7‘s new wall-jumping mechanics on its outer lanes. “You’re going over the rooftop while other players are on the inside experiencing a completely different close-quarters dynamic,” Treyarch said.
With the game’s open beta just days away, Treyarch and Activision have been pulling back the curtain on the shooter before fans get the chance to go hands-on. For those who are still undecided about the next entry in the Black Ops series, the yearly COD Next event will return on September 30, offering even more information on Black Ops 7. If previous years are anything to go by, the event will feature numerous content creators going hands-on with the title, giving fans their best look yet at gameplay.
