Ghost of Yotei: How to Farm Coins Fast

As you confront human threats, you will rely on Coins, the essential in-game currency for Ghost of Yotei, to secure vital upgrades. Coins are used to purchase powerful new weapons, protective armor, crucial maps, and various items necessary for survival and progress. However, during the early hours, resources are exceptionally scarce, and most powerful equipment will feel out of reach.

With minimal Coins to start, buying everything from non-player characters (NPCs) is simply not possible. This guide provides multiple, proven strategies to help players earn Coin quickly and efficiently in Ghost of Yotei.

How to Farm Coins Fast in Ghost of Yotei

Completing Bounties

Despite having little to no Coins at the start of the game, you will be happy to know that you can start earning a lot fairly early on. After you complete the prologue and visit your old home, you can then make your way to the Inn. It is here that you will come across a story segment where you have to deal with Lord Saito’s men.

Once that is done and the next day arrives, you can go out of the Inn to find Kojiro on your left, who is sitting next to the Bounty Poster Board. This NPC offers rewards to whoever can track down and kill the bounties listed on the board. These bounties are a great way to earn coin and are not really time-consuming at all.

Some of the Bounties offer weapons and other cosmetic items as well, so these are a must-complete early on. You will be fighting a single enemy for these bounties most of the time. These fights act like boss fights, where the enemy will use all the tricks they have up their sleeve

Gambling for Coins

The next method, which is also quite consistent, is Gambling. To do this, you will need to find a Gambling Den first. There are quite a few located throughout the different regions. Depending on which route you took from the first region, you will come across the Ishikari Plain or the Tokachi Range. The Huranai’s Rest Inn, which is east of Ohara Plains, has a Gambling Den that can be accessed right away. The Oni’s Breath Inn, to the east of Ishikari Fork, also has one, but this requires clearing out the Inn of the Oni men.

Inside the Gambling Den, you can play a game called Zeni Hajiki. If it is your first time playing it, you will recall a flashback where Atsu’s mother will explain the rules. This is a straightforward game where you can adjust the distance the coin will shoot using your R2 button. You will play for 120 Coins each time, and since the game is quite easy, you should not lose any and keep profiting. Inside each den, you can also win a Charm on your second win.

Selling Items

There are quite a few NPCs throughout the game that offer you the option to sell your items. Resources that you currently do not need, or that you possess in large excess, can be efficiently offloaded to these various scavengers and merchants. While selling these items will not yield massive amounts of Coins individually, it is a consistent and reliable way to make up for a minor shortage of funds when you are close to purchasing a specific upgrade or piece of gear. This method ensures that every collected item has value, contributing steadily to your overall wealth.
